Every year we have welcomed a Duke of Edinburgh Scheme Bronze award volunteer to undertake weekly litter picking in Crofton and Sparrow Woods. In 2025 we successfully branched out to also offer woodland work sessions.
So, if you are interested in outdoor activities as part of your volunteering, do get in touch. You can get together with friends and do woodland work as a group, or you can be our litter picking volunteer.
Because the woods are a Site of Special Scientific Interest we will need to agree the work programme with you. You will probably want a parent to supervise your group - although that isn't needed for litter picking. We supply hi-viz, gloves and warning signs for passerby - you will need to provide loppers, and secateurs.
